LOVING FUTURE SOLIDARITY FUND
overview
The Loving Future Solidarity Fund was created as a vehicle to share resources with organizations, families and individuals in the Central American transnational cultural milieu. As part of For A Loving Future (FALF) Programs, it accompanies our nontribal/tribal exchanges and certificate programs. Funding for the Loving Future Solidarity Fund has come from individual donations and some general operating support mini grants. Ideally this vehicle will be supported by multiple philanthropic organizations, including individual donors.
Current trends of femicide, anti-GLBTQIA+ violence, political persecution and criminalization, and the ongoing effort of Indigenous communities to rebuild as a result of genocide are major concerns for our organization’s efforts to do cross cultural exchange, learning, and solidarity practices. This Fund is our effort to meet organizational participants impacted by these concerns as they engage our program offerings. The current design is based on initial support offerings done as we continue to learn from our program participants about their lives and the various obstacles being faced by people who are part of this transnational Central American cultural milieu.
